Immediately upon listening to The Hunger Games film soundtrack all the way through, I went back to this song to hear it again. I find it simply incredible. Her voice, of course, is gorgeous, but I love that it’s clearly written about Katniss, but the tune sounds as though it was written a hundred years ago.

So many of them sound like Appalachian protest songs. (I immediately thought of Hazel Dickens and the like.) I have so many feelings on this subject as it relates to District 12 and its location but zero time to get into it tonight. Suffice it to say, I’m in love with this album. Bravo, T Bone Burnett.

I’ve been on a big Tilly and the Wall kick lately, and when this song came on, it just really struck a chord

PS Are they still making music? They’re due for a new record and I want to consume it immediately post-haste
